You know what really annoys me; when people complain about being broke but really aren’t and just don’t want to use their savings. I think it’s a real kick in the face to those who are actually struggling and are broke. Seriously the amount of people I know who whine about being broke but will go out on the weekend, buy clothes and other crap. Yeah you are so broke. You know what broke is, when you have no money after paying for necessities in life or can’t afford basic health services like the guy in my last reblog of thedailywhat (yes it is partly due to the poor national health program of the States). For example I blew my budget last week and spent my whole pay check, but I’m not going to whine about being broke I’m just going to be a bit more cautious this week with my money and may have to dip into my savings if need be.
I’m over listening to people my age complain about money when a lot just can’t control their spending on unnecessary things. I honestly believe people under 25 shouldn’t be allowed credit cards, the amount of young people I know and have run into when I worked as a sales rep for Citibank who have credit card debt is ridiculous. Credit cards aren’t free money, you have to pay it back and if you don’t do it on time you can get crushed under compounding interest.
And FYI I’m not the typical rich Asian kid, I come from a working class family. But yeah it seriously pisses me off when people complain about being broke but aren’t. It just makes me want to punch them in the face. It annoys me just as much as people who bludge and live off social security and don’t try to contribute to society and expect government payments.
